“If you want to be blonde go to Morgan McNeal. She really knows what platinum is. Morgan colored, cut, and styled my hair exactly how I wanted it.” Wow. That’s a doozie of a statement isn’t it? The editor of the Scoop was shocked with this 4 foot 9 inch Sicilian-blooded beauty service critic’s beginning statement during her de-briefing of the salon experience she had with Master stylist and colorist, Morgan McNeal, at Tera Lane Salon and Spa.

The Scoop’s Salon Experience contributor, Jessica Perrone, shares her professional opinions on the hair services she received by Morgan McNeal at Tera Lane Salon and Spa in Tuscaloosa. BamaSalons.com is excited to provide this review because Jessica had so many awesome things to report about her experience. Before you get your hair colored or cut anywhere read this first!

In Jessica Perrone’s Words:

“My salon experience with Morgan McNeal at Tera Lane Salon and Spa can be summed up in one word: AMAZING.

No other salon, stylist, or colorist has ever satisfied me as much as Morgan McNeal did at Tera Lane Salon and Spa. I have been getting my dark hair colored blonde since I was 13 years old. I have been a color client of salons in Philadelphia, PA, Birmingham, AL and of several well-known salons around Tuscaloosa. What does all that mean? That means I know that all hair coloring, cutting, and styling services are not created equal. I’ve experienced average, below average, and occasional above average hair services. The thing is, I understand that the task of making super dark hair super blonde can be a daunting and sometimes down right scarey task to many stylists! Morgan McNeal met the challenge.

Morgan gave me the platinum color I asked for on the first try. I usually go back and have the colorist make my hair more blonde within a week but not this time! Morgan got it right and I finally have the multi-tonal blonde color I have always searched for. As all of you brunette-to-blondes know… getting that perfect blonde color can be difficult. Morgan, being a fellow-platinum herself, created a color formula that resulted in the PERFECT, CELEBRITY-WORTHY multi-tonal blonde color that I wanted! The color was and has stayed literally perfect. I would truly call Morgan McNeal an “expert in platinum!”

My hair cut was just as fabulous. I literally picked out a hair style in a hairstyle magazine, asked, “Morgan, can you do this!?”, and she cut and styled my hair identical to the picture I showed her! I mean identical! I didn’t want my service to end because I was enjoying the experience so much. When Morgan finished my hair I looked in the mirror and I was completely satisfied. I was elated as I walked out of Tera Lane, which is not the common reaction for me as I leave a salon because as I said before, I am extremely picky when it comes to my hair. I mean when you pay big bucks, or any bucks at all, on your hair you should be picky!

You know what the best feeling was and still is? Relief. That’s right. I feel relieved that I FINALLY found a stylist who can actually do platinum the right way! Morgan LISTENED to me and she truly cared if was happy with my hair. I was really impressed with the salon and its staff. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the salon was top notch and everyone I encountered was really nice. Tera Lane Salon and Spa is truly customer oriented.

Before I sign off I have to share this part. One nice gal stopped by my chair, introduced herself as one of the stylists, and checked to see if I needed anything. Turns out, that stylist was Tera Lane herself. It could have been so easy for her to be like, “Hello client. I am the owner of this salon and I just wanted to brag to you about it for a minute.” But instead Tera simply checked on me and moved on without all the whistles and bells that normally follow owners around. THAT impressed me. A humble owner. Hmmm. That said something to me about the type of foundation this salon and spa is built on.

The Final Word: I live in Birmingham and I will absolutely drive to Tuscaloosa every time I need my hair done because Morgan is THE BEST platinum blonde colorist I have ever encountered. I had to give my resignation to BamaSalons.com’s The Scoop as a hair service experience contributor because Morgan McNeal will be the only stylist and colorist I will ever let do my hair again. (Yes, the Scoop is accepting applications.) Tera Lane Salon and Spa’s master stylist and colorist, Morgan McNeal, is the real deal. It is my professional opinion that Morgan McNeal is an expert in platinum.”
